Comedian to co-host BBC Two show with Sara Cox

Darren Harriott is to co-host the new BBC series Britain's Top Takeaways with Sara Cox.

The show will put fast-food outlets to the test, with five orders biked to families in Manchester each week to be put to a consumer vote.

Harriot said: ‘If there are two things I love, it's takeaways and families, except at around 3pm on Christmas Day with all the relatives fighting over the remote control and that's when I'll be dreaming of ordering in a meal for one.

‘Working on such a unique, fun show with the legendary Sara Cox and getting to know all the families was a personal highlight, I can't wait for everyone at home to meet them.’

The eight-part series  is being made by Repair Shop producers Ricochet,  but it might yet change its name as  Britain's Top Takeaways is still a working title.
