From Samuel L. Jackson to Diane Morgan

The full cast has been released for Charlie Brooker’s Netflix special, Death To 2020.

The Black Mirror creator – who fronted end-of-year Wipe shows for the BBC from 2009 to 2016 - revealed the existence of the show on Twitter on Friday.

Now Netflix has confirmed the commission, describing the show as a ‘landmark documentary-style special [that]  weaves together some of the world’s most (fictitious) renowned voices with real-life archival footage spanning the past 12 months.

Those taking part include Samuel L. Jackson, Lisa Kudrow, Kumail Nanjiani, Tracey Ullman, Samson Kayo, Leslie Jones, How I Met Your Mother’s Cristin Milioti and Joe Keery from Stranger Things.

Hugh Grant previously confirmed that he was to play a historian on the show, telling one interviewer: ‘I'm pretty repellent, actually! And you'll like my wig.’

Also on the cast list is Diane Morgan, pictured, whose Philomena Cunk character was a breakout from the Wipe shows.

No release date has yet been set for Death To 2020, which Booker co-created with  long-term collaborator Annabel Jones.  Alison Marlow, who produced the Wipes as well as Cunk On Britain, produces this, too.
