Harry Enfield to play Richard Branson in new BBC comedy
Harry Enfield is set to play Sir Richard Branson in a new BBC comedy.
In Island Of Dreams, the Virgin entrepreneur will play host to an array of celebrities on his private island of Necker, and aim to solve their problems.
According to the Radio Times, BBC Two are piloting the idea from George Jeffrie and Bert Tyler-Moore, who have made careers from writing exaggerated versions of the famous as writers of Channel 4’s Star Stories and royal spoof soap opera The Windsors.
The BBC say the tycoon will be ‘solving the problems of our most-loved and messed-up celebrities while they're enjoying some well-deserved island luxury... but does Sir Richard have a more important masterplan - a dark secret involving interplanetary travel?’
Branson has owned the island of Necker, a 74-acre enclave in the British Virgin Islands, since 1978, and regularly invites A-listers to holiday there.
