Bath comedy night cancelled

Bath's Komedia venue has cancelled its comedy club tonight after a fire broke out.

A stage light caught fire during the sound check for Hazel O’Connor's music gig last night.

Firefighters rushed to the 100-year-old venue, which was evacuated quickly. No one was injured in the incident, and after carrying out safety checks the fire brigade declared the building safe.

However,  the venue cancelled tonight's  Krater Comedy Club and tomorrow's child-friendly rave Big Fish Little Fish 'to allow a full cleanup' amid reports of a smoky smell still pervading the venue. It plans to be back open on Monday

Komedia is currently seeking community investors to become co-owners in the venue and help secure its future. Details.
