Comedy Central returns to 2002 format

Jimmy Carr is reviving a decade-old E4 game show.

Your Face Or Mine in which a couple had to choose the most attractive person based on their pictures, originally ran for two series in 2002 and 2003.

Now Comedy Central is to revive the series as 22 half-hour episodes to air in spring next year.

Carr said: ‘I’m delighted to be bringing back Your Face or Mine to Comedy Central.

‘In an age when people are forever judging individuals on how they look, placing attractiveness on a pedestal above intelligence, and forcing others to fit societal norms of beauty, why not make them do all of those things, to their loved ones, on national television and for money?’

Leon Wilson, managing director of producers Talkback added: ‘We’re bringing this hugely popular and much loved gameshow bang up-to-date for the Tinder generation. It’s a devilish format perfectly suited to today’s swipe–right, swipe-left society, and we’re delighted that Jimmy will be guiding us through it.’

The series will be shot in front of a live audience in early 2017.

Comedy Central’s last commission was The Chris Ramsey Show, which is set to broadcast in the new year.
