In a new comedy movie

Rob Brydon has signed up for a new film about male synchronized swimming.

The comic will play the lead role of Eric in the comedy movie Swimming With Men, Hollywood industry website Deadline reports today.

It is based on the 2010 documentary Men Who Swim, about middle-aged Swedish men who took up the sport. Brydon's character Eric hopes his involvement will win back his wife Heather.

Swimming With Men is directed by Johnny English Reborn helmer Oliver Parker from a script by former Catherine Tate Show writer Aschlin Ditta.
