As his film plays London Film Festival

American comedian Mike Birbiglia has announced  a London date.

The stand-up, recently seen as Danny Pearson in Orange is the New Black, is to play the Leicester Square Theatre on October 11.

It follows a 100-city tour of his show Thank God For Jokes, which looks at the sensitivities surrounding comedy.

A spokesman said: ‘Join Mike as he learns that the same jokes that elicit laughter have the power to produce tears, rage, and a whole lot of getting yelled at. Ultimately it's a show that asks, "How far should we go for the laugh?"’

It follows his hit one-man shows Sleepwalk With Me, which was made into an independent comedy film in 2012, and My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend

He is also creator, writer and star of the film Don’t Think Twice, which is set around a New York  improv group and is being screened at the London Film Festival on October 14-16.

Birbiglia has also appeared in the films Trainwreck, The Fault in our Stars, Cedar Rapids and more.
