But Caitlin Moran has a plan to bring it back...

Channel 4 has dropped Raised by Wolves after two series.

Creator Caitlin Moran announced the news online - but told fans she had a plan to bring it back.

'Of course Raised by Wolves isn't going to go away,' she said in a YouTube video.

'Every other show would give in but we believe when life gives you a massive kick in the knackers, you make massive kick in the knackers-ade.

'So, we've got a plan. Stand with us... and you will be the first to know what's happening next, because something is going to happen.'

She urged fans to sign up to a Facebook page, perhaps suggesting a future crowdfunding drive or sale of extra episodes via on-demand services.

And she added that it was 'genuinely touching to see all the anger and sorrow' following the news.

Channel 4 said it was 'incredibly proud of launching Raised by Wolves' but added that it was instead 'committed to a range of brand new series for next year'.

The show starred Rebekah Staton, Helen Monks and Alexa Davies, and was written by Moran and her sister Caz, loosely based on their upbringing in Wolverhampton. It ran for 13 episodes over two series, starting with a 2013 pilot.

Raised by Wolves might also get a new lease of life in America, where it is being adapted for American TV by Diablo Cody, the writer of Juno.
