The Simpsons gets an hour-long episode

And Amy Schumer guests in another

The Simpsons is to make its first  hour-long episode. 

The Great Phatsby will air sometime in January in the States and revolve around Mr Burns being conned into bankruptcy by a music mogul, then seeking revenge.

The episode had originally been planned as a two-parter and guest stars Empire star Taraji P Henson and comedian Keegan-Michael Key. . 

Executive producer  Al Jean said: ‘I just pray it won't be the last thing people see before a Trump inauguration.’

Meanwhile,  Amy Schumer is to guest star in three of the Fox network’s animated comedies on one night.

The comedian will voice three separate characters on The Simpsons, Bob's Burgers  and Family Guy going out on September 25.

The night marks the launch of the 28th series of The Simpsons.
