RADIO: Just A Minute returns for a 76th series with Paul Merton, Katherine Ryan, Gyles Brandreth and Josie Lawrence taking part in the opening episode. Radio 4, 6.30pm

Wednesday August 10

RADIO: It’s a second series for former BBC Radio New Comedy Award winner Lucy Beaumont’s comedy To Hull And Back. Beaumont wrote the show and plays a young woman trying to escape her overbearing mother, played by Maureen Lipman. <Radio 4, 6.30pm

RADIO: Her predecessor for the BBC crown, Angela Barnes, is also back for a second series of her show, You Can't Take It With You,  in which asks her loved ones to nominate objects that they would choose to send on with her as mementos of their time together.Radio 4, 11pm.

LIVE IN LONDON: The Leicester Square Theatre tonight stages what’s being billed as the first stand-up show to be performed in both Arabic and English in the UK. 5 Egyptians, A Pakistani, An Indian And A Jew will feature Egyptian comics from Al Hezb El Comedy, who will perform in their native tongue in the first half, with the second half given over to British acts including Anil Desai, Sajeela Kershi and Josh Howie. LIVE IN EDINBURGH: It’s the day that every up-and-comer toiling away at the Fringe gets overshadowed, as Louis CK swoops into town for a hot-ticket gig at the Playhouse. He’s at the Eventim Apollo in London on Saturday and Sunday and Dublin’s 3Arena on Monday. Good luck trying to get a ticket.

RADIO: Al Murray again brings Edinburgh highlights to his Radio 2 audience  with guests including the Radio Active team, Zoe Lyons, Bec Hill and Sara Pascoe. 10am
