'I'm not supposed to be here, but neither is Donald Trump'
Stephen Colbert has been escorted off the stage of the Republican National Convention after mocking Donald Trump.
The comic and talk show host made an uninvited appearance in Cleveland, Ohio, dressed as the blue-haired host of the Hunger Games, Caesar Flickerman.
He told those in the Quicken Loans Arena he was there to 'launch and begin the 2016 Republican hungry for power games'.
As security led him away from the podium, he protested: 'I know I'm not supposed to be up here, but to be honest neither is Donald Trump.'
Colbert also announced that Trump had 'formed an alliance' with his running mate Mike Pence, then appeared to drop off, before apologising that he had 'blacked out there for a moment'.
The stunt lasted less than a minute.
Colbert also posted this tweet from the convention in his Flickerman guise.
