Louis CK announces London date

First UK gig in three years

Louis CK has announced a London date – his first in the UK for three years.

The comic will be appearing at Wembley Arena on Friday August 12, and at the 3 Arena in

Dublin on August 15.

In an email to fans, he said: ‘It’s all new material (well, I’ve been working on it for about a year, so if you saw me at a club or something since last May or so, you might be seeing some of the same material, though it has changed drastically over the months) but if you’ve seen me on tour, in a major venue, you won’t have seen these particular words.

‘That’s right. I am not using any words that I have ever said on stage. It was a very difficult challenge. I had to resort to words like "cotton" and "trunk" and even "Salutation".

‘Anyway. It’s new jokes and I think I’m better at comedy right now than I’ve been for a while and I’m going to dedicate the year to just doing great live shows. I’m very ready and excited to come to your town.’

CK recently told Howard  that he was ‘millions of dollars in debt’ after funding the offbeat sitcom Horace and Pete, which he released as a series of paid-for downloads.

As well as his stand-up career, he has been stretching his acting muscles, recently appeared in Trumbo alongside Bryan Cranston and will next be heard as the voice of Max in the animated film The Secret Life of Pets, set for release later this year

CK last performed in London in 2013, when he played the Hammersmith Apollo and O2 Arena.
