FELICITY WARD was last night named best international comedian at the New Zealand comedy festival for her show, What If There Is No Toilet?, about mental illness and irritable bowel syndrome. She said the festival was 'the time of my life'.

MUSICAL comedian Vikki Stone has been cast in a disco version of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. She will play Oberon, the king of the fairies, and Mia in The Donkey Show, an immersive experience that features hits such as I Will Survive, Carwash and We Are Family. The show first ran in London 15 years ago and is being revived at Proud Camden from June 9.

STAND-UP Jason Cook has set up a small comedy festival in South Shields in the run-up to Edinburgh. James Acaster, Nish Kumar and Joel Dommett are among the acts playing the Customs House – where Cook also runs a regular comedy club – from July 29 to August 7. Website.
