Showstoppers win an Olivier

'Flying the flag for improv'

Improvised musical Showstopper! has won one of the most prestigious awards in the West End.

The Edinburgh Fringe favourite won the best entertainment and family category at the Olivier Awards tonight.

Sir Lenny Henry presented the award for the show's three-month London run last autumn.

The Showstoppers team posted that they were 'absolutely delighted and thrilled' with the award, and that they were 'flying the flag for improv.'

Showstopper! The Improvised Musical – which also won best character, improv or sketch act at last month's Chortle Awards – continues to run approximately every fortnight at the Lyric Theatre Shaftesbury Avenue. Here is our review from last year.
