Comedies up for Celtic awards

Mrs Brown's Boys, the Absolutely sketch team and stand-up Bennett Arron have all been nominated for awards at the Celtic Media Festival.

The 2014 Christmas special of Brendan O'Carroll's sitcom is up for best comedy against Ireland's Savage Eye: An Irish Guide To Failure and a High Hopes sitcom special from Wales.

And up for the radio comedy award is Siadwel, Bennett Arron Is Jewelsh and Here Be Dragons from Wales;  Breaking The News, The Absolutely Radio Show and Sketchorma from Scotland; and Ireland's The Blame Game and GaelGÁIRÍ ar an Raidió

The awards are handed out at the festival in Dungarvan, County Waterford, over the weekend of April 20-22.
