ITV3 dedicates Easter weekend to Rising Damp

ITV3 is to dedicate its entire Easter weekend to Rising Damp.

The channel will air all 28 episodes of the Leonard Rossiter classic back-to-back, as well as the 1980 film.

And a new two-part documentary narrated by Martin Clunes that will cover its rise from  everything from Eric Chappell’s original stage play to sitcom legend and promises 'interviews, unknown facts, reunions and loca0on visits from cast and crew'.

Still a staple of ITV3, the original show ran on ITV from 1974 and 1978 and also starred Frances de la Tour, Don Warrington and Richard Beckinsale.

However, Beckinsale died the year before the movie came out, so Christopher Strauli was cast as a new character, art student John.
