One-off special planned

Outnumbered will return for a one-off special next year, co-creator Andy Hamilton has confirmed.

The BBC One sitcom ended last year after five series, but the cast have always suggested there may be specials.

Now Hamilton told Fubar Radio that ‘we hope to visit the family for a kind of one-off’- but he doesn’t want to do a Christmas special.

He said that he was curently working on ideas with co-creator Guy Jenkin. ‘Me and Guy, on our wall, in our office, we have a list of ideas we are trying to work out,’ he said. ‘We’ve done a few Christmas specials, but you kind of disappear in a big gap of Christmas programming. We’re kind of inclined to do it somewhere else if we can.

’That’ll be a discussion me and Guy have to have between ourselves and then the BBC. We’re hoping to film it next year.’
