Comics tour with musical next year

Jason Manford and Phill Jupitus are to star in the 2016 UK tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

The pair, who have previously appeared together in The Producers on tour, will be reunited when the West End hit goes on the road from January.

Manford will share the role of eccentric inventor Caractatus Potts with Lee Mead. The comic will take the role from February 10, when the show launches at the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton, until April 24, and again from October 5 to November 19, when it ends its run at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking.

Jupitus plays Lord Scrumptious, while the cast also includes Martin Kemp as the Childcatcher and Michelle Collins as Baroness Bomburst.
