CHEERS is to be made into a live stage show. Details of the format have not been released but CBS Consumer Products say the production, which is set to tour America next year, will ‘showcase classic moments’ from the comedy. The company is also developing a musical based on The Brady Bunch, which puts the old the characters into a new story.

SIMON DAY’s musical alter-ego Brian Pern is to take to the stage for a one-off gig. He will be interviewed by Rhys Thomas, the character’s co-creator, at London’s Lyric Theatre,Shaftesbury Avenue on October 19. The show will also feature performances of the fake rock hero’s greatest hits with guests to be announced, as well as video clips and an audience Q&A. Tickets go on sale at 10am tomorrow.

INSIDE Amy Schumer regular Nikki Glaser is to front a weekly show on America’s Comedy Central, Not Safe With Nikki Glaser. The show, which launches next yera, will mix sketches with conversations with comedians about sex. The deal is for ten episodes plus a a one-hour stand-up special for the network.

ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT is to return to Netflix next year, co-creator Brian Glazer says. Production will start on the fifth season in early 2016 for broadcast later in the year.

Alan Carr’s talent show The Singer Takes It All has been dropped by Channel 4, trade magazine Broadcast reports. The final of last summer’s series attracted a disappointing 800,000 viewers.
