Comedians front TV science show

Ben Miller, Romesh Ranganathan and Rachel Riley

Ben Miller and Romesh Ranganathan are set to host a new science entertainment series for ITV.

The comedians will be joined by Countdown's Rachel Riley for a pilot of Out Of This World, which is being shot in London on Tuesday.

Producers say the series sets out to answer questions such as 'How do you blow things up in space? Will genetics ever bring back the dinosaurs? and Why do we only find certain people attractive?'

Miller was a Cambridge science student, who abandoned his PhD on low-temperature quantum effects to pursue a career in comedy.

Riley has an Oxford maths degree; and before becoming a stand-up, Ranganathan was a maths teacher in Crawley, West Sussex,

The show also has a 'Professor Know-It-All' who can answer audience questions. Free tickets to the recording are available here
