Sir Terry Wogan joins Moone Boy

As does Sharon Horgan and John Sessions

Sir Terry Wogan and Sharon Horgan are to appear in the new series of Moone Boy.

In one episode, Radio 2 presenter Wogan will play the host of a home video show for which central character Martin Moone tries to film a hilarious clip.

And Horgan plays a high-powered, yoga-loving entrepreneur who used to date Martin’s father Liam. The character almost shares her real name, being called Sharon Morgan.

Chris O’Dowd’s comedy will return to Sky 1 on March 2, the broadcaster announced today, fresh from being named best sitcom at the British Comedy Awards.

Other guest stars include John Sessions, who plays a local conspiracy theorist. The Roscommon town of Boyle where the series is set has, in real life, been dubbed a UFO hotspot.

O’Dowd wrote the show with Vincent Murphy and stars as the imaginary friend of David Rawle’s Martin Moone, alongside Peter MacDonald and Deirdre O’Kane. Johnny Vegas also returns as Crunchie Danger Haystacks, the imaginary friend of Martin’s best friend Padraic, Sky confirmed.
