Shearsmith's Gothic horror gets funding
BORLEY RECTORY, the part-animated Gothic horror film about the most haunted house in England starring Reece Sheasmith, has reached its initial £3,000 crowdfunding target. The Inside No 9 star said: 'The project oozes as much quality as it does evil. Borley Rectory is one of the great ghost stories. I needed to be part of it.' The project has now upped its target to £10,000 – and has surpassed the £6,500 mark. Read more on the film here.
CHANNEL FIVE has renewed The Dog Rescuers with Alan Davies for a Christmas special and a third series of 12 episodes. The series follows the RSPCA's attempts to rescue dogs that are being neglected or abused.
CRAIG CHARLES and former Allo Allo actress Vicki Michelle are taking part in the new series of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, which starts this Sunday at 9pm on ITV.
THE NEW YORK clinic where the Joan Rivers suffered cardiac arrest before she died did not follow all the standard protocols for the throat procedures it conducted on her, including failing to weigh her before administering the sedative Propofol. The Centers for Medicare & Medicare Services also said the Yorkville Endoscopy Center did not have records of consent for all the procedures performed. Joan's daughter Melissa said she was 'outraged' by the findings.
KAREN GILLAN's US sitcom Selfie has been cancelled. A very loose reworking of Pygmalion for the Instagram age, the show was pulled after attracting disappointing ratings for the ABC network.
