LOUIS CK has signed a new production deal with FX, the home of his sitcom Louie, to develop new series for the US channel. Under the contract, he will have the option to write or direct any shows he brings to them. The deal does not affect Louie, which returns for a fourth season in May.

GARY LE STRANGE – the alter-ego of musical character comedian Waen Shepherd – has released a new album, Beef Scarecrow – more than seven years after debuting the tracks an Edinburgh show of the same name. He says the album contains ‘offbeat songs about rotting scarecrows, evil pipers, violent whelks, genetically re-engineered wolves, imaginary cartoon swan Gods and bowler hats with bees on’. Buy.

FREDDIE STARR has been re-bailed by Operation Yewtree detectives investigating allegations of historic sex offences. Scotland Yard say his is next due to answer bail in February, as their inquiries continue. He was first arrested in November 2012.

CHRISTMAS EVE is to be Channel 4’s IT Crowd night, which Chortle reported on yesterday, with the sitcom taking over the schedules from 9pm to midnight.

IF YOU believe the Daily Mirror, Jack Whitehall ‘shocked’ the audience of the British Fashion Awards by making a jokey reference to Nigella Lawson’s alleged cocaine use. Obviously none of the guests had any experience of drugs.
