Hills and Count Arthur lead British Comedy Award nods

Shortlists revealed

Adam Hills and Count Arthur Strong lead the shortlist for this year's British Comedy Awards, with three nominations apiece.

The Australian comic is up for breakthrough artist and best comedy entertainment personality, while his show The Last Leg is up for best comedy entertainment show.

Meanwhile, Count Arthur Strong is up for best sitcom and best new comedy programme, while his creator Steve Delaney is also in the running for the breakthrough act.

David Mitchell is also doing well, being nominated fot best male TV comic and best actor, while Peep Show is up for best sitcom.

Jonathan Ross is once again hosting the awards, which will air live on Channel 4 next Thursday, December 12.

One winner will be announced tomorrow: Best New Comedy Programme, in which Count Arthur Strong, Cuckoo, Plebs and Psychobitches have been nominated.

There will also be three special prizes handed out on the night of the main awards - The British Comedy Outstanding Achievement Award, The Writer's Guild of Great Britain Award and the award for International Achievement.
