It’s believed that Jo Brand’s Great Wall Of Comedy is being made for one of the UKTV digital channels, probably Gold.
The panel show would certainly sit well with the channel’s archive content, with producers describing it as ‘a celebration of sitcoms - classic and modern, from Allo Allo and Hi-De-Hi to Black Adder and Black Books via Not Going Out and Outnumbered’.
The show also promises guest stars from the world of sitcom.
The commission comes after some low-key run-throughs in London in October.
Five recording sessions are to be held at the Maidstone Studios in Kent – where Take Me Out is filmed – from the end of this month. See our free tickets page to be in the studio audience.
Channel 4 previously ran its own comedy-based quiz, Comedy World Cup, hosted by David Tennant. Brand was the captain of the losing team in the opening episode.
