Russell Brand to return to XFM

With Noel Gallagher

Russell Brand is returning to XFM,the London station where he started his radio career, to present a series of shows with Noel Gallagher.

The broadcasts bext moth will be to mark the Teenage Cancer Trust gigs benefits at the Royal Albert Hall, includng the comedy night Brand co-hosts with Noel Fielding.

Brand started his radio career at XFM in 2002 but he was fired for reading out what was considered as pornographic material live on-air - a precurser to the Sachsgate scandal he provoked at Radio Two.

Gallagher told The Sun: 'XFM asked me if I wanted to do my own radio show leading up to this year’s TCT concerts. I said, I have a better idea. Why don’t we resurrect whats-his-name’s career? That hairy skinny-legged yogameister, Rustle Brand?'

Brand added: 'I miss radio. It was lovely when we did the show. It’ll be great to get the old team back together.'

The shows - which will air from from March 19 to 24 - will also reunite Brand with his old co-host Matt Morgan.
