Jason Manford set for nudist sitcom

Pilot for ITV

Jason Manford is set to film a new ITV sitcom – about a family of nudists.

Naked House is about a dad who’s fallen on hard times, and had to move back up north to live with his retired parents, along with his wife and son.

But an early blurb for the show says: ‘And if three generations under one roof wasn't bad enough, his parents are celebrating their retirement with a new hobby – naturism!’

A pilot is being shot at Elstree Studios at the end of next month, with Manford's name attached, although a source close to the show said he had not yet signed on the dotted line.

The sitcom is being made by Leftbank Pictures, whose credits include the new E4 sketch show from Cardinal Burns.

However, at least one Twitter user is already unimpressed, with @treadders posting: ‘Just seen the plot for a pilot Jason Manford is making and it's beyond absolutely fucking dreadful.’

ITV has vowed to boost its comedy output, and had just appointed Little Britain producer Myfanwy Moore as a new commissioning editor to find new hits.
