Ade dances into the final

Swan Lake ballet's a winner

Ade Edmondson got through to the final of Let's Dance For Comic Relief after performing a ballet dance from Swan Lake.

He won the public vote in Saturday night’s show, after performing in a tutu and tights, watched by wife Jennifer Saunders, and two of their three daughters.

But for the finale, comedy partner Rik Mayall came on stage and smacked him in the face with a frying pan screaming: ‘Just die! Get on with it!’

Here is the performance:

An Eighties supergroup of Limahl, Chesney Hawkes, Clare Grogan and Toyah took the last place in next week’s final on the judges’ vote after performing Greased Lightnin’.

John Bishop said: ‘It’s horrible decision. It’s like trying to choose between your children. Because I’ve got unfinished business with Toyah, it’s got to be the Eighties group.'

Referring to the earlier performance of Wham’s Club Tropicana by Simon Brodkin as Lee Nelson and his overweight sidekick Omelette, Jo Brand said: ‘Because Omelette’s gone and I had my heart set on him, it’s going to be Joe [Swash] and Caroline [Flack].'

Felix Dexter cast the deciding vote, saying: ‘‘I’m drawn to a woman in glasses Clare Grogan is doing for me. Definitely I’m going for the Eighties supergroup.'

And here is Lee Nelson’s performance:

Also taking part were Iain Lee, doing Will Smith’s Getting’ Jiggy Wit It, and Marcus Brigstocke doing Kung Fu Fighting, below:
