Brand rocks on

Russell's next movie comedy

Russell Brand is to star in another movie comedy with producer Judd Apatow – where he’ll again play a rock star.

The comic, who plays wild musician Aldous Snow in Apatow’s current film Forgetting Sarah Marshall, has already been signed up for his next feature, Get Him to the Greek.

In it, Brand will play an out-of-control rocker, who has to get from London to a gig at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles.

The film will reunite Brand with Forgetting Sarah Marshall co-star Jonah Hill, who will play a naïve, bookish insurance adjuster charged with chaperoning Brand’s character to the gig.

And Nick Stoller, who made his directing debut with Forgetting Sarah Marshall, will also direct and write the new film.

Stoller told Hollywood trade paper Varierty: ‘During the table read on Sarah Marshall, Jonah and Russell had such a great chemistry.

‘Even though they are such different actors with different styles, I thought there could be a great buddy comedy there.’

Brand is also appearing in the next Adam Sandler movie, Bedtime Stories, which is due out in December.
