Diana's Spitting Image puppet to be sold

'Bad taste' claims denied

Princess Diana’s Spitting Image puppet is to be sold next week, prompting accusations of bad taste.

Auctioneers expect the Latex mask will go for between £5,000 and £10,000 when it goes under the hammer on November 1.

Auctioneer Mullock's deny the sale at Ludlow Racecourse was poorly timed, even though it comes during the inquest into Diana’s death.

Richard Westwood-Brookes told the BBC News website: ‘Unfortunately we seem to be in a culture these days when somebody somewhere has always got to find whatever you do as offensive.’
