America imports the Worst

US remake for BBC sitcom

Amercia’s CBS network is to attempt a remake of the BBC comedy The Worst Week of My Life.

It has ordered a pilot episode, to be called simply Worst Week, to be co-produced by British company Hat Trick, which made the original.

The broadcaster is not the first to try to convert the show for the US market, as rival networkFox had it in development in 2005-6.

The show revolves around a young couple who must navigate the politics of their respective parents during a family holiday. The original, which first aired in 2004, starred Ben Miller and Sarah Alexander, pictured.

Matt Tarses, who previously worked on Scrubs, is writing the CBS pilot.
