Competition hits Bristol, Cardiff and Dublin next

Here are the videos from Week Two of this year’s Chortle Student Comedy Award.

They were held in Warwick University, won by Alex Lee, a second-year history and politics student there; Salford, won by Maxine Wade, a mature children's nursing student; London, won by Canadian-Bangladeshi comedian Mohaimen, a masters student in digital marketing at the University of West London; and York, won by Jake Stogden, a computer science undergraduate there.

They join Week One winners Jade Kelly, from Edinburgh University, Jack Simmonds from Durham and James Clark at St Andrews. Watch all the performances from the first three heats here.

Our next heat is in Bristol on Sunday (tickets) followed by Cardiff on Monday (tickets) and Dublin on Tuesday (tickets).

Thanks for reading. If you find Chortle’s coverage of the comedy scene useful or interesting, please consider supporting us with a monthly or one-off ko-fi donation.
Any money you contribute will directly fund more reviews, interviews and features – the sort of in-depth coverage that is increasingly difficult to fund from ever-squeezed advertising income, but which we think the UK’s vibrant comedy scene deserves.
