Reviews

Original Review:

With his Northern slob act, Burgess is unlikely to be blasting away any stereotypes but the quality of the material more than make up for it. His is a hilarious routine of men behaving badly getting plenty of laughs and more than a few squeals of disgust from his confessional observations. There's no ground-breaking stuff here, but Burgess does it very well.

A really funny performer. Seems to operate in that debatous region between middle class and working class, but magically manages to satisfy both (a bit like Tesco). Surreal and offbeat, but without any obvious reference to 'received' culture. Fantastic act.

John F Keane, August 2008

Late in the day I know, but having just watched 'Who's Ready For Ice Cream' Tony Burgess is one of the most hilarious and brilliant comics I've seen in ages... He's an absolute star

Paul Earth, May 2006

Hilarious

Leanne, November 2005

Tony is one of the best stand ups in the country, you will laugh.

Roland Gent, April 2005

Incredibly funny comic. If you get chance to see him, do. He has a head full of magic.

Harvey Vasey, April 2004

Saw Tony in Birmingham and he went down a storm. Very funny material from a top Mancunian comic

Rich Dudley, July 2003

Funny man! Agree that he's far better when he's taking the piss out of somebody

Greenie, March 2003

Saw him in Newcastle supporting Johnny Vegas and then in Blackpool too. His act started the same, till faced with some child hecklers,he spent the rest of the night improvising and was absolutely hilarious. Top bloke.

Andi, January 2003
