Joe Cornish is best known as half of the Adam & Joe double act, whose cult Channel 4 series, supposedly shot in their bedsit, ran from 1996 to 2001.
He met Adam Buxton at Londonís Westminster School and developed a friendship based around making short comedy videos, some of which they submitted to Channel 4ís Takeover TV in 1994.
They were subsequently invited to host the programme before being given their own show, which was most famous for its recreation of Hollywood scenes using soft toys.
They won the Royal Television Society Best Newcomers Award in 1998, hosted several specials for Channel 4 and BBC Three and fronted a Saturday lunchtime show on London radio station XFM.
The funniest comedian, writer, film director, tall man, singer, songwriter and block attacker this side of Adam Buxton (over whom he has several advantages. Namely his name, career and height.) I would bite off any part of my body to have it replaced with a billionth of his genius.
Thank you for your excellent radio show on Xfm last year. I can only find the podcasts but they are really wonderful. I'm in South Australia so access (I can't think of another word but that sounds somehow rude) is limited, so I hope you do some more soon, as they make the boring bits of my work so much better that I've actually done some filing. It's a very good thing indeed. You are spreading good and neatness throughout the world. Cheers
