Gavin was quite genius, and, unlike the other acts last night, didn't seem in the least misogynist. Whereas other comedians resorted to tired cock jokes, Gavin was truly inventive, moving from pandas to questioning why moderates never draw grafitti on the walls, to many other things, in a mix of the surreal and the observational that brought tears to my eyes.

Saw him a few months back and was a bit disappointed. He shouted a lot, not always to great effect, and his material was very hit and miss.rnrnThe stuff about pandas was, however, hilarious and almost made up for the rest of his act.

Gavin Webster is one of the very few comics who I would drag my sorry arse from the dressing room to watch every time we work together. His delivery is unique, his misogyny as far as I remember extends to one very ironic line. This is a very talented comic and your review misses the mark by a million miles.
Andy Heydon (Raymond), May 2007
Not a good headline act, Gavin comes across as very cocky and arrogant. He seems to think that if you're not laughing then you're either dumb or offended when his material is very hit and miss.

Saw him last night in Harrogate. Although (as mentioned before) his Panda stuff was great and he was still very entertaining, he was just not anything special. He genuinely looked disinterested last night.

Take your ear muffs if you don't like volume, 'cos this guy is loud and a total motormouth. Luckily, he's damned funny with it. Don't try to analyse it - just enjoy.

Gavin was at The Glee in Wales recently and that's half hour of my life I aint getting back. Luckily the other acts on the bill saved the night
