Shows cancelled by bad weather

Cross-dressing cabaret act Drags Aloud have pulled their entire Leicester Comedy Festival run, citing the bad weather.

The troupe – who are actually from Australia – had been scheduled to perform at the Gilded Ballon in the City Rooms almost every night of the festival.

They are just one of four shows that have fallen victim to the bad weather.

The festival said: ‘Due to the current inclement weather, the following acts have had to cancel their festival shows: ‘Caimh McDonnell, Drags Aloud, Funtastic and Pandabastard.’

However, there is some good news, with extra shows being added for triple Chorte Awrd nominee Tim Minchin and Jarred Christmas.

Minchin has added an extra performance of his show Ready For This? at De Montfort Hall on February 12; while Christmas has added a February 13 date to his show Captain Curious and the Starship of Oddity at Bowies, following a hit performance at the festival’s preview show last month.
