Mock The Week joins in the national conversation about the World Cup in the episode airing on Sunday, 

Fifa’s introduction of hydration breaks attracted some suspicion from footy fan Maisie Adam, who said: ‘Oh hydration breaks, that are definitely not for the adverts…’

‘No not in any way,’ host Dara  Ó Briain chimed in. ‘It’s player welfare ... how dare you even suggest?’’

The teams also took a look at the England team’s World Cup publicity shots, with Anthony Gordon’s drawing particular focus. 

Glenn Moore, took a picture on his phone of the image, explaingn: ‘My barber never knows what I mean when I ask for the "lesbian nana".’ 

‘It does look like the photo you’d put on the front of an order of service for an auntie’s funeral,’ Rhys James notes.

Later in the episode, the panel discuss the UFC match that took place at the White House. 

‘They got takeaway food at the party, didn’t they?’ said Adam. ‘From MAGAwamas’ – sparking a flurry of puns about Trump supporters going on  holiday to  to MAGAluf and enjoying the film MAGAdascar .

 Chris Ramsey, Sarah Keyworth, Ed Byrne, and regular regular Rhys James also took part in episode three of the panel show’s ’summer specials’ which also discussed , the under-16 social media ban, the Makerfield by-election and Elon Musk’s trillionaire status.

It will air on Sundays at 9pm on free-to-air TV channel TLC.

In next week’s episode, Ó Briain and James will be joined by Milton Jones, Ed Byrne, Angela Barnes, Hugh Dennis and Janine Harouni.
