The Lunchtime Club
Show type: Edinburgh Fringe 2011

I too am slightly flummoxed by this review. I'm a promoter and long time Fringe goer - I have seen and booked hundreds and hundreds of comedy gigs. There was nothing groundbreaking about the five acts on show here, but it was a perfectly entertaining way to spend an early afternoon. I've seen much more cliched, tired, tardy and well trodden material this year from far more established comedians - "give us a cheer if you're in a relationship!". Just like last year's Lunchtime Club (most of whom are at Pleasance venues this year), there's a shed load of potential here. I'd have reviewed it at 3 stars. Oh, and Jason - Joe Wells was spot on with his reference to lowering the miniumum wage for disabled people. I watched the Newsnight debate where it was discussed. He never claimed it was the government's proposal, he correctly said it was Tory right winger Philip Davies. If you're going to slag off a comedian, make sure you check up on facts first.

I have read several other reviews that give this show 4 stars and so went to see it and really enjoyed it.
