Attack of the Soccer Moms

Description

Satan cuts a deal with a pair of back-stabbing American mothers who will stop at nothing to make sure their little princesses succeed on the soccer field in a satire that mocks America's desperate lust to succeed and 'win' at all costs.

Original Review:

Show Rating:Attack of the Soccer Moms rated 1/5

Absolutely excruciating. The art of coarse acting lives and breathes in these hammy, shouty, gurning performances that put the cringe into fringe.

Plot summary: two ghastly mums sell their souls to the devil for their daughters' sporting success. In order to escape eternal damnation the devil asks them to kill their husbands. They do. They go to jail. Good.

I enjoyed the review. I haven't seen the show yet so I can't (won't) comment.

Kenny, August 2008

A lesser critic would have bothered make a point by point critique of the show, but not julia, she's above all that

I thought it was rather brilliant indeed. Saw it twice, I did, and laughed heartily at the silly antics of Satan and the mums. Sure, they are hamming it up, but who doesn't like a good chortle now and then, what?

Cornelius Pedersen, August 2008

"Put the cringe into Fringe." what a cringeworthy turn of phrase. Awful quality review.

Alice Black, August 2008

Dear Julia Chamberlain, nYour reviews are incredibly compact and insightful, your use of language so stunning, your grammar and syntax so unparalleled. your grasp of dramaturgy so completely the opposite of narrow and small minded, that It's hard to believe you only work for a small website that almost nobody has ever heard of.

Jonathan Lahr, August 2008
