The Consultants: Boss
Perrier best newcomer 2002. Fresh from their second series on Radio 4, The Consultants return to Edinburgh for the inevitable backlash. Sketches, songs, bum and poo jokes. It's all there.

Gosh. We must stop. The Consultants, October 2003 |

Miserable. What makes them think they can get away with saying jokes I saw done better on kids TV by Edmonds, Philbin et al? And you'd think they could have learnt their lines. Mark, October 2003 |

It was awful. The indian execution was the worst but the ginger haired one singing "dem bones" made me squirm Mark, October 2003 |

Drivel. The songs were alright, the rest of it was embarassing and that sketch with the Chinese woman was offensive. Mark, September 2003 |
|
Rubbish. I couldn't tell why everyone else was laughing - not only did they do so-called 'funny' songs but they made several racialist comments during the show and seem to think that is funny being gay, which it is not. I won't be seeing them again and that's for sure. Mark, September 2003 |

Amazingly bad. Out of about a hundred fringe shows over the years this was probably the worst I've ever seen. A sketch about Jack and Jill/Little Jack Horner taking industrial action, or a 'boarding schoolmaster' character threatening to cane his kids, are the sort of things you wouldn't expect in a sixth form revue by special needs children. How the hell are these people on Radio Four - they might be talented performers but their material's barely funny enough to be in the weather section, let alone sustain its own series.
