Original Review:

Show Rating:The XX Factor rated 2/5

This inconsequential, zero-budget, amateurish bit of nonsense has its moments of fun - but it just feels very light, and barely worth the same ticket price as a proper show.

The two performers bluster through all this stupidity with spirit and conviction, making it a lot better than it could otherwise have been, but it remains essentially a whole lot of nothing.

What I suppose would be called the plot involves a woman fast-forwarded to a future where females no longer exist, and trying to make her way back with the aid of a clown and a space cowboy.

It's an excuse for some pretty tired 'how men and women are different' stuff, and some truly abysmal puns. All delivered with a knowing wink and a playful nudge in the ribs, but it's a long way from the height of comedy, though just occasionally it does hit the funny bone.

You can't fault the energy, but you can fault just about everything else, from the rough and ready script, to the technical shoddiness that threatened to derail the whole thing that was always looking a bit wobbly anyway,

Come back when it's finished, folks.

Finally, a fringe show that isn't up its own bottom. Loads of laughs, plenty of fun. Five stars.
