Newcomers Giddings and Burdess are lively, talented and have great chemistry, all of which are amply demonstrated in this cavalcade of characters.

There is something of a tendency to rely on broad comedy accents as Aussie, Cornish and Northern, the latter reminiscent of Victoria Wood creations performing an amusing sex-orientated dance routine, but they are generally quite fun.

The deadpan duo, whose styles contrast as much as their appearance, have a playfully competitive streak, as they alternate playing similar characters.

Some work very well, like the two larger-than-life Kosher Americans who talked incessantly, and the running theme of the Mechanical Mausoleum provides a strong thread to bind the show together.

But some of the other sketches appeared to be self-congratulatory exercises, celebrating their flair for mastering accents, and bearing little relevance to the surrounding subject matter.

Although slightly fractured, this affable twosome perform well and have some admirable ideas. But there is a danger their own style may drift towards the mechanical world of all the other all-singing, all-dancing female double acts.
