Obadaiah Steppenwolf III
Rev Obadaiah is to stand-up comedy what the baby Jesus is to jewellery, and at 6ft 3in, he's not only bigger than The Beatles, he's bigger than The Monkees - apart from Mike Nesmith

Original Review:
This formidable character decked out in mirrored sunglasses and full mullet claims to represent all that is good and pure in the hearts of god-fearing folk from the deepest of the Deep South. He preaches his show and purports to be a pious religious man, a mask which soon slips as he recounts tales of family life back home. There were some cracking one-liners and toe-curling observations, but after 30 minutes it felt like there was no place left to go. The character needed to explore other avenues, rather than continue to rake over the same old ground, which a small cluster of the audience found laugh-out-loud funny, while the rest could muster only the odd titter. |

Complete genius-the best character act I have seen in a long while. Roland Gent, October 2001 |
