Hollow Men Live At The Lounge

Note: This review is from 2000

Review by Steve Bennett

You're guaranteed unadulterated fun at the Lounge.

The Hollow Men never put a foot wrong in their side-achingly hilarious take on the world of light entertainment.

The dodgy cabaret act has been done by everyone from Tommy Cooper to Raw Sex, but each of the fantastic characters that populate this down-at-heel club is a new comedy classic.

From the brash, anally-fixated American club owner to the gloriously xenophobic immigration officer, every over-the-top creation, no matter how small, is a well-rounded hit.

The unforgettable Natalie Imbruglia mime is easily one of the most hilarious things on the fringe this year, but to single out any of the turns is unfair - this is a relentlessly funny hour.
