Missed it! Julia Davis's aborted Channel 4 comedy Morning Has Broken

Pilot posted online... then quickly vanishes

A previously unseen comedy pilot that Julia Davis filmed for Channel 4 has been released online – but just as quickly disappeared.

In Morning Has Broken, the Nighty Night and Hunderby star plays a demanding and self-centred daytime television presenter.

She wrote it with Nick Mohammed, who-co-stars as her co-host on the fictional show  – and who has now uploaded the episode on to the internet.

The cast also includes Georgie Glen, Seb Cardinal, Jamie Demetriou and Asim Chaudhry, and was directed by Dan Clark.

It was shot in 2014 and a series was commissioned, with Friends star David Schwimmer has signed on for a starring role as a US producer brought in to try to save the floundering daytime show.

But later the plans were shelved – a decision described as a ‘mutual’ one  between production company Brown Eyed Boy and Channel 4.

So the pilot  never saw the light of day – until now. But within a few hours of Mohammed uploading it, it disappeared again.
