Katherine Ryan to host her own Canadian TV show

To be taped at Montreal's Just For Laughs

Katherine Ryan is to return to her native Canada to host a new stand-up show.

She will host a line-up of leading comics in the series for The Comedy Network, rather unimaginatively titled The Stand Up Show with Katherine Ryan.

Performances will be taped over six gigs at Montreal’s Just For Laughs comedy festival this summer.

Meanwhile, the British comedians heading to the prestigious festival have been announced.

Nish Kumar will host the annual showcase of UK talent, which will feature Paul Chowdhry, Joel Dommett, Sara Pascoe, Ed Gamble and Lauren Pattison.

In a major announcement of this year’s line-up, the festival also revealed that Dylan Moran will attending for two solo performances of his new show, Grumbling Mustard.

And Australian comic Hannah Gadsby will make her last ever performances of  her multi-award-winning stand-up show Nanette, which is also being released on Netflix worldwide this year

Other names announced today include Russell Peters, David Cross, Maria Bamford, Tom Green, Chris Gethard and 30 Rock’s Judah Friedlander.

Jimmy Carr had already been announced as attending alongside the likes of Kevin Hart, Trevor Noah and Tiffany Haddish.

Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival runs from July 11 to 29, with most of the English language programming in the second week.  For full listings, check the website.
