Fall into The Trap

The best comedy on demand

This week's best comedy shows on demand.

POTOm

Like a rare bird returning to our shores, The Trap release one of their increasingly sporadic podcasts, causing great excitement among the twitchers when it's spotted in the reeds/iPlayer feed. But you get your money's worth with POTOm, as this epic runs for almost two-and-a-quarter hours. Too long? Almost certainly, Put there are plenty of gems as Jeremy Limb, Paul Litchfield and Dan Mersh shoot the breeze, interspersed with sketches. Look out especially for Frost/Nixon reimagined as one of Richard Herring's RHSQTP interviews, for fans of podcast-on-podcast skirmishes, and a filthy Harry Potter pastiche. Listen here.

When We Waffle

Impressionist Terry Mynott - who you'll know from The Mimic, VIP and Morgana – heads this podcast which mixes banter with sketch elements that make use of Mynott's mimicry, including phone calls from Ronnie Corbett, and Donald Trump reading from his novel Cincinnati Street. Also featuring Katrina Fox and Laurie Peters. Listen here.

Asian Network Comedy

Another stand-up show from the BBC Asian Network, this one taped a The Curve in Leicester. Tommy Sandhu introduces Hardeep Singh Kohli, Dane Baptiste, Paul Sinha and Eshaan Akbar. Watch on the iPlayer here.

Wheelbarrow Town

Stand-ups Danny Ward and Mark Simmons have created this online sitcom as a side project, playing two brothers who attempt to run a countryside retreat called Bobbin Farm – think low-budget Priory. Other comedians making guest appearances include Seann Walsh, Ria Lina and, for the latest Halloween special, Pat Cahill and Paul F Taylor. The channel is here.

Dana Carvey: Straight White Male, 60

The former Wayne's World sidekick yesterday released a stand-up special on Netflix, with a blend of exaggerated impressions of the likes of Bill Cosby, Richard Pryor and George Bush, and true-life stories about being the father of millennials. However, it's received a lukewarm critical reaction, with The Onion's AV Club describing it as 'pleasantly forgettable', with the ex-Saturday Night Liver not sinking his teeth into topics. Watch here, if you're a subscriber.
