Vic and Bob are among the nominees in the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain Awards, that have just been announced.

The duo are up for best TV sitcom for their BBC Two series House Of Fools, where they are up against Jessica Hynes for Up The Women and Stefan Golaszewski for Him and Her

Meanwhile in the radio comedy category, the shortlist is:

• Helen Keen and Miriam Underhill for It is Rocket Science
• Marcus Brigstoke with Jeremy Salsby, Toby Davies, Nick Doody, Dan Tetsell and Steve Punt for The Brig Society (Marcus Brigstoke with Jeremy Salsby, Toby Davies, Nick Doody, Dan Tetsell & Steve Punt)
• And John Finnemore for his Souvenir Programme

The BBC has secured every TV and nomination in the awards, which will be handed out by Sandi Toksvig in London on January 19.

In other categories, Steve Coogan is nominated for his film script for Philomena with co-writer Jeff Pope, the TV drama veteran.

And an episode of animated CBBC comedy Strange Hill High, starring Emma Kennedy, Doc Brown , Richard Ayoade and others, has been shortlisted for best children’s TV sScript
