Keith Lemon joins Corrie
...for a cameo
Keith Lemon has filmed a cameo role in Coronation Street.
The alter-ego of Leigh Francis will play the part of a delivery driver for Newton and Ridley, the brewery that provides the Rovers Return with its booze, in a forthcoming episode.
Lemon host has made no secret of his desire to be a guest on the show, and last year made a Celebrity Juice special featuring its actors.
At the time, he said: ‘One day, hopefully, fingers crossed, I will be in Coronation Street, int he hairdressers, going, “Its too short, I’m not coming here again.’
He joins a long line of comics who have made guest appearances in the soap. Bernard Manning played himself in a 1971 episode; Peter Kay played a would-be lothario Eric Gartside and Sir Norman Wisdom played elderly fitness fanatic Ernie Crab, both in 2004.
