Wrestler Raven performs stand-up

London gig next year

American wrestler Raven is coming to the UK – to perform comedy.

He follows in the footsteps of former WWE hardcore champion Mick Foley, who returns to Britain for a second stand-up tour next year.

But while Foley is playing theatres with his ‘audience with...’-style show, Raven – aka Scott Levy – is making his debut in London pub The Good Ship.

Raven has held the WWE hardcore title a record number of times, as well as other numerous belts for rival wrestling companies WCW, TNA and ECW.

He first tried stand-up in 2010, and in an interview at the time said: ‘I decided to do stand-up because I've always been considered a very funny individual. But, of course, it's much harder to write a joke than it is to be funny in a situation.

‘I wasn't sure if I could. So I finally did a gig in Norfolk, Virginia. Did about 30 minutes in my first gig and I killed. But I knew because I ran my material by a lot of my buddies first.’

Raven is playing The Good Ship in Kilburn on February 19. Click here for tickets. Or click here for Foley’s 2013 schedule.
